Topshop to Oslo

Finally the moment all norwegian girls have been waiting for.. Topshop is at last opening in Oslo! Kate Moss' fabulous collection is said to be available in stores for us poor, until now left out norwegians in 2010. Only a couple of months ago, Norway got listed as one of Topshop's shipping countries, and the whole female population went crazy. I can't imagine the lines that'll appear outside Topshop's doors on the opening day..

My question to Topshop is where have you been all this time? Did you just figure out there's a small country in the north you simply forgot? Trying to make up for it by promising 4 more stores in the following years? Well, in that case - it worked. Apology for forgetting us accepted! I can't wait to queue for hours in order to get my share of Kate Moss Topshop holiness.

Oslo Fashion Week 2009

The biker jacket by FIN

Oslo Fashion Week 2009 has officially begun! The opening show were held in the fabulous new opera house next to Oslofjorden, and the place was filled with Norwegian celebrities and fashion people. The show contained everything from singing to dance to fashion, and although it was a bit commercialized it was a real spectacle! Pictures can be found in every Norwegian newspaper today.

The winner of this seasons competition "Nåløyet", where the best Norwegian designers get to present a few pieces each, was FIN. And what's cool is that not only is this a cool Norwegian brand, they are actually selling clothes in 13 countries and they only uses ecological materials. And as a proof of their high fashion status, Kate Moss owns the biker jacket that was shown at the catwalk yesterday.

What Will Kate Moss Do?

Recently there's been a lot of questions about Kate Moss' future. Will she continue to work as a model? Yes, most certainly. Even though she has passed the normal age of retirement for models she still look gorgeous, so really why shouldn't she? I can only see one reason for her quitting modeling. Maybe she wants to do other stuff instead..? She has already proven herself as a designer, and also a musician on Babyshambles track La Belle Et Le Bete and Primal Scream's song Some Velvet Morning. In fact, Kate's boyfriend the Kills' guitarist, Jamie Hince, gave her a piano for her birthday. Or maybe will she try acting? Kate is said to be discussing possible project with famous Hollywood director Michael Figgis.

London calling

Time to go to... London! I am so excited! I love to travel, and now it's been over six months since my last visit in London, the very home of our favorite celebrity! London has so much great stuff to offer, I'm so looking forward to walk in Hyde Park, coffee at Starbuck (Yes, we still don't have Starbucks in Norway..) shop in Kingston High Street, go to museums (Tate Modern or National Gallery this time?), go to concerts or clubs (haven't really decides where yet) and hang out with my friends and little sis (god, I envy her so much for living there every day!). My options are endless in a city like London! I must say I still prefer Paris, but London is a close number two!

Even though I haven't really figured out everything I want to do yet, one thing is for sure. I am going to do vintage shopping. Soooo much more fun in London than Oslo! And I'm not the only one that has a thing for vintage pieces. Although Kate shops a bit more fancy (and expensive!) pieces than I do, she too stared doing markets and smal stores in Portobello Road. When I was in London the last time I went into this really overfilled little shop, "One of a Kind". And on a board by the entry there were pictures of a young Kate Moss everywhere! Too bad I didn't take any photos of it for my blog when I was there... Maybe I'll do it this time if I pas the Shop!

I'm only going to be gone for the week-end, so I'll give you an update on what I actually did next week! And, one last question if anyone sees it before I leave... Where do you just have to go when you're in London?

Happy birthday!

On the 16th of January Kate Moss turned 35! Happy birthday!

Last year on Kate's 34th birthday she tried to throw a 34 hours long party, and she was not aiming lower this year. Her 35 years have been celebrated with a 4 days long celebration, including a nine-hour drinking session at the China Tang restaurant at the Dorchester Hotel in Mayfair, a performance by Lionel Richie and a huge medieval themed bash at her St John's Wood home. Here are some pictures from the celebration:

New Year's Resolution

Kate Moss, the subject of this blog, has an amazing body. A unique face, great skin and not a kilo too much anywhere on her body. How does she do it? When I think Kate Moss I don't really think of sports or fitness centers... But not everyone can be as fortunate as Kate. My New Year's resolution no 1 is less of this:

And more of this:

But am I the only one that gets bored by regular gyms? All the treadmills and weights and muscular show-off guys are not exactly my kind of things... Instead I've just found out about another place here in Oslo. Doesn't this look far more interesting?

The place even has its own ecological café!

The center is called Resonance and is placed in the center of Oslo next to Majorstua. Here's the internet address if anyone wants to cheack it out:

The eco trend

A Kate Moss favorite: Natural Magic Organic Treatment Candle

There's no question about it, the eco trend has come to stay. This is relatively new in Oslo, but it's a fast growing market. With stars such as Gwyneth Paltrow and Kate Moss to lead the way, ecological products have started to enter normal people's lives as well. And really, why shouldn't we love it? These products care about the environment as well as they care about to us!

The ecological Gimle Parfymeri in Oslo

In Oslo, this is really is a new thing. We've had ecological food for a while, but around six months ago the first ecological cosmetic shop opened. And by now there's also an ecological hair dresser! I really hope this continues. After living in France I have become an eco chic! And I'm not alone. In Copenhagen there are eco shops everywhere, and in London there's even an eco night club (whom it's actually rumored that Kate Moss was attending the opening night).

Kate Moss for Topshop

Kate Moss' collection for Topshop has now been out in stores for almost 2 weeks, and we must say we like it! Her collection consists of a number of dresses (including a beatutiful dress called 'prom dress'), tops (e.g. with a picture of herself all over), pants (wide-legged!), coats (a lot of fur) and accessories. Items can be bought online at www.topshop.com but hurry; a lot of sizes are already sold out. Anyways, with these incredible Kate Moss garments we have a bright Christmas ahead! As we say in Norway; run and buy!

Kate Moss book

I didn't plan to post anything to day because I got loads of work to do. But then I heard something very interesting... Something that just had to be posted in our blog immediately. On the 2. October a book about the Kate Moss style were published. And I didn't know about it before now.. What a shame! Anyway, the book is called "Kate Moss Style" and it's written by Angela Buttolph. She is a fashion journalist that has written stuff in every major fashion magazine from Vouge to i-D. There's also numerous contributors such as Karl Lagerfeld, Tom Ford, Manolo Blahnik, Donna Karan, Domenico Dolce Stefano Gabbana (Dolce & Gabbana), Matthew Williamson, Kelly Osbourne, Britt Ekland, Katie Grand and Marc Jacobs. This is bound to be good! Gotta buy this book as soon as possible!

Fact!

Finding out what kind of products Kate Moss is using is not an easy job! Every magazine, blog, store or friend tell you something different. But I consider this information reliable because I got this story from my boss. She told me that Kate Moss actually sent a letter to Penhaligon's telling them that whatever the magazines were writing, "Bluebell" is her signature fragrance! And with citrus as its head notes, flowers as its hart note and also a hint of cinnamon, this really is one of my favorite fragrances too. It's one of a kind.

Dress favourite

With this incredible garment, it was just love at first sight. It is a vintage Budweiser dress from New York, that we discovered au Salon du Vintage during Paris Fashion Week 2008. Classy, fashionable, but not too glamorous; this is a piece of heaven that looks as good as a party dress as with a leather jacket and some nice boots. Since it's extremely tight and small, being the only ones who could wear it, we got it half price! Kate Moss would absolutely adore it, really - who wouldn't?

Kate Moss in british Vogue

Only a couple of hours ago, British Vogue december came to stores in Norway. And guess who's at the cover??? Even though she featured British Vogue only three months ago, she's back. This time in Dior couture. And she looks stunning as always.

Item of the day

I seriously doubt that Kate Moss would find the time to knit by her self, but I'm sure she's got a knitted scarf. And so do I! And I even knitted it with my own two hands. November is such a cold and grey moth, but thanks to this scarf I'm neither grey nor cold any more!

Kate Moss would go for sushi

OK, so I was going out for dinner last night, and felt this urge for something really unhealthy, full of fat, sugar and everything good and illeagal, mmm. But as I was strolling down the sidewalk, on my way to the nearest and - I hate to admit it - my usual fast food resturant, it struck me. In this situation; What Would Kate Moss Do? She would never eat that! So i called a couple of friends and invited them out for something more classy, healthy and most important, incredibly good; SUSHI. The night was a total success, we got to catch up, have fun and a good laugh, combined with a healthy, tasty meal. I can't emphasize enough how underestimated sushi had been in my life before; now I'm going to look at it in a whole new way. It's not even that expensive as I always thought it would be all the times I passed the sushi resturant in pursuit of something more suitable for my wallet as for my urge for sugar. Sushi, people; sushi. I know some thinks it's kind of last year, but hey - never too late! It belongs to the story that I still felt for some kind of desert after the last maki was swallowed.. Ice cream was on the menu, and it's hard to resist..but WWKMD? We then got to the genious conclusion that Kate Moss would totally SHARE, and therefore we finished off the evening by sharing a big can of Ben&Jerrys Cookie Dough, mmm! (We can't be too strict to ourselves either) A perfect ending to a perfect night!

What Would Kate Moss Do?

Living your life in this modern world is not the easiest thing to do.. But some people seem to manage it just fine, Kate Moss is an example. How does she manage to stay on top of beauty, fashion and basiclly the whole world? What is going on inside her head?
I guess we would never know.. But we can always try to imagine it ourselves! That's what this whole blog is about. During all kind of different situations, I will from now on ask myself and all of you out there "What Would Kate Moss Do?"
